About the African Diaspora Council

 

The Diaspora Council is a not-for –profit organization, legally incorporated under the Canada Corporations Act, in 2021, but operating as a common-law universitas since 2019. The Council derives its membership from Diasporans living in Canada (Head Office), UK, Germany, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa and the USA. Our mandate is to showcase Africa as a safe and profitable investment destination, via the conduit of Canadian Diaspora, Canadians, greater diaspora and the African Diaspora.

The Council assist in poverty alleviation of the Diasporian through newcomer resettlement projects, youth and senior intergration and social intervention projects, business networks and forums. 

Objectives

  1. To showcase Africa as a safe and profitable investment destination, for this and for future generations.
  2. Market and showcase Africa’s investment opportunities on the International stage
  3. Mobilize African and Black diaspora’s, as well as Pan-Africans and the International community to participate in political, economic and social development programs in Africa.
  4. Mobilize Foreign direct investment into Africa, through a global investment drive and smart partnerships.
  5. Assist immigrants from Africa, Pan-Africans, Blacks and the Caribbean to start, explore and venture into business opportunities in Canada and Africa.
  6. Initiate in the Capacity Building, Poverty Alleviation, Sustainable Development and help market Africa to the International community as a safe destination for Foreign Investment, Trade, Business and Tourism.
  7. Spearhead and warehouse data, projects, information, investments of African Diaspora to invest in Africa abroad. This may include, amongst others, activities such as climate change businesses (solar, wind turbines, clean energy), tourism, mineral research, ecosystems, fisheries, joint business ventures, BOOs, BOTs, foreign direct investment, etc.
  8. Doing all other things incidental to the attainment of these and other ancillary objectives.

Board of Directors

The Diaspora Council was founded by Moses Madera, the CEO and Chairman, and is governed by a Board of Directors. This group is assisted by an ex- officio Advisory Council. The current Chairman of the Advisory Council is Mr. Wellington Mugezi.

Advisory Council

The various Black cultural groups within Canada and Internationally are a vital part of our organization, as well as emminent Black Professionals and Cultural Leaders and Youth and Women, including religous organizations. These form the Advisory Council which advises the Executive Council founded by Moses Madera and run by an Executive Board of Directors and assisted by an Advisory Council. Anyone interested in joining this Council is free to join.

Thus we have an emperical Vision in the advancement of the education, health, religion, culture and ethnic of the Black Person, and not necessarily the African Person, thus making us unique and distinct from other organizations who are only Afrocentric. We play a pivotal and well concerted dynamic effort in catering for all Black People, like Carribean, African- American, Coloured or Brown People, Africans, and anyone who affiliates with our mandate, like White and Aborigines and Everyone else. We promote, support and believe in ethnicity and and celebrate cultural diversity. So Everyone is Welcome.
